With over 800 years of collective experience performing machine tool service, control retrofit and rebuilding, Konecranes MTS attracts some of the most talented and respected machine tool mechanical, electrical and control/application engineers in the manufacturing industry. Many of our associates are factory trained and served apprenticeship programs offered by OEM’s. We are committed to their continued growth and development through internal and external training programs.

 

Executive Team Bios:

 

Harold Schoch, Director of Sales
Konecranes Machine Tool Service - Region Americas

Prior to joining Konecranes in October, 2009, Harold was the founder and President of Machine Tool Solutions Unlimited, LLC in Cincinnati, Ohio. In his role as Director of Sales at Konecranes MTS, Harold uses his experience and knowledge of the market to help set the sales strategy and vision for the company.

Harold comes from a long line of machine tool builders. In fact, he is part of a machine tool building family that spans five generations. He has been in the machine tool business for over 34 years, attaining experience in all facets of the business. As a result of the comprehensive training he has received coupled with his extensive experience, Harold is considered a “thought leader” in the machine tool industry. He has the unique ability to visualize engineered solutions. Harold consistently goes beyond the conventional mindset of most machine tool builders and service companies to arrive at the best solution.  

Being a student of the industry, Harold continually studies the market trends and productivity challenges of Konecranes MTS customers as they seek to compete in a global economy. Harold’s keen insights and thorough understanding of the manufacturing industry enables him to effectively lead the Konecranes MTS Sales Team. The MTS Sales Associates strive to determine the best value proposition Konecranes has to offer in order to meet the ongoing demands of all customers. Under Harold’s Leadership of the Sales Department, the year over year Sales results of Konecranes Machine Tool Service has grown over 30% since 2009.

Possessing a passion for training and mentoring the next generation of machine tool specialists, Harold has authored numerous technical briefs related to the machine tool industry, including co-authoring a “high tech” training syllabus that is currently being used at the Boeing Craft College in Auburn Washington. Harold is highly respected and sought after for consultation and frequently conducts training seminars for small and large companies. The seminars are targeted at transferring the technical knowledge necessary to troubleshoot, maintain and repair simple to complex machine tools. It is not unusual for the recipients of the training seminars to select Konecranes as their machine tool service partner.

Harold sits on a number of advisory committees and steering committees. It is his goal to “give back to the industry” and help businesses acquire long term sustainability by implementing the “best business practices” necessary to meet the expectations of a demanding global market.

When he is away from work, Harold enjoys spending quality time with his Wife Becky and his family, especially his grandchildren. He is active in his Church and local community. His hobbies include: Playing with his grandchildren, reading, antique car restoration, visiting Civil War sites, shooting and fishing.

 

Buddy Schoch, Vice President & General Manager
Konecranes Machine Tool Service - Region Americas

Parallel to his responsibilities as VP-General Manager, he is also a member of the Executive Management Team for the Business Area (BA) Service.

During his tenure as VP, he has led MTS through an exponential and profitable growth period. All facets of the MTS business unit has excelled under his leadership. Buddy and his Management Team focus on being a customer driven organization and  pride themselves on having the most qualified machine tool specialists in the industry by keeping our promises and never letting the customer down.      

He is the 5th generation of a machine tool building family who has proudly provided for their families and the families of others by servicing and supporting the manufacturing industry. During his 15 year career, he has worked in several roles within the machine tool industry, beginning as a Service Specialist and  machine tool builder and eventually being promoted to the position of Operations Manager prior to being appointed to his current role as VP-General Manager.   

The experience Buddy has gained by working in various aspects of the machine tool industry has equipped him with a unique ability to grasp and fully understand every aspect of the business. This well-rounded experience qualifies him to support the customers’ needs and efficiently resolve their productivity challenges while maintaining quality.
